I just don't have enough time to eat well / exercise

Lack of time can be one of the biggest obstacles to people's fat loss efforts.

 

The great equaliser, rich or poor, we all get the same amount and once it's gone it's gone.

 

Despite the fact it's a man made construct it rules everyone's lives and for many it dominates them. Creating pressure and stress at every turn.

 

"If only I had more time" many people will lament out loud or inwardly.

 

Often people in the health or fat loss industry will spout vague clichés about how Oprah and Bill Gates built billion dollar corporate giants on 24 hour days and so you can achieve your desires too.

 

But this does little to actually help.

 

"Time hacks" also help but like most of the industries approaches they are papering over cracks, giving soundbite solutions to problems with much deeper stomachs.

 

If we don't look at the way we look at time and fat loss itself then nothing will change long-term.

 

Many people create stress by focusing on time and the inevitable moment when they haven't achieved what they set out to do.

 

Even though more often than not it doesn't matter and all the stress was for nothing. They miss March's weight loss goal or they don't get their work to their boss on time.

 

And then ...

 

Nothing.

 

You might get a snotty email. But for the most part nothing really changes and no one really cares.

 

And so the issue is the way YOU look at time.

 

If you change the way you look at this, you can stop being dominated by time.

 

This change of mental approach is the same for the efforts required.

 

People don't have time for the gym, to meal plan their food for the week or cook all their meals in advance.

 

The issue here is not the time available to do the tasks but the way the problem is confronted.

 

Workout at home. Plan for the next day instead of the whole week. Buy food that doesn't need cooking.

If you start to look at your problems differently they transform. People set impossibly high standards that can never be met. Finding more time will NOT solve this. Only by looking at the problem more flexibly will you get where you want to be.
