Are you REALLY willing to do the work? Becoming a hostage negotiator
Jun 07, 2022The path to being a hostage negotiator isn't an easy one (supposedly). Especially when you have no skills, qualifications or doors opened for you.
So how did Chris Voss become the Lead Negotiator for the FBI?Voss applied to the hostage negotiator training with ZERO skills, qualifications or fast track, free passes. After his immediate and obvious rejection he asked the course director if there was ANY way he could get onto the course.
There was. A six month, unpaid volunteer role on a suicide hotline.
He went away and did the work, reapplying six months later as directed. And was told by the course director he was the second person out of 1,000's who had been offered this advice to actually take it.
And as if by magic he was then offered a place on the course and so began his ascension to becoming the lead negotiator for the FBI.
You might be thinking "Wow, that's seriously impressive". You might think "Well I could do that." or you might think "What the hell does this have to do with me?!".
Well, wait no more! This has everything to do with you because that ratio of 2:1000+ rings true in my line of work when it comes to helping people live healthier, happier lives.
The stone cold truth is most people are simply not willing to do the work. I have recommended blogs, tasks, books, podcasts and any number of resources that I KNOW will help clients or people in our community and the percentage of engagement with this is less than 1%.
This isn't a bollocking or a rant. You can do whatever you see fit with your time and my advice. It is a call to arms and a reminder that these tools are out there. Examples of success are laid bare and you simply have to follow them if you want to be successful.
The question is simple, are you willing to do the work? If you are, drop a comment on this (Facebook) post saying "Ready" in the comments and I'll send you a copy of our Fat Loss Basics, Exercise AND Mindset guides for free.
